He Said He “Had This Overwhelming Feeling”

James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke segment is pretty popular and it featured several iconic musicians over the years. But one episode that truly stood out was when Paul McCartney appeared on his show as his special guest. Even viewers remember it clearly because at one point, things got quite emotional.

The pair went on a trip to Liverpool and they drove past landmarks closely associated with The Beatles. McCartney talked about “Let It Be” and how he came up with the song after dreaming of his mother. It moved Corden to tears.

“I can remember my grandad, who was a musician, and my dad, sitting me down and saying, ‘we’re going to play you the best song you’ve ever heard’,” Corden explained. “And I remember them playing me that.”

In an interview with Howard Stern, Corden declared that that was actually his favorite Carpool Karaoke episode which doesn’t surprise us one bit. Corden told Stern, “I don’t remember what I’ve done to deserve such memories. I don’t know what has gone right that I would have such memories.”

And while they were filming it, he “had this overwhelming feeling” especially since it was his grandfather who introduced him to The Beatles. Check out the rest of the interview below.
