It’s His Way of Entertaining His Neighbors

During the COVID-19 lockdown in Italy, a couple of musicians tried to uplift everyone’s spirits in their own way – by playing songs from their balcony. The most recent performance that’s been making rounds on the internet is from Rome-based guitarist Marco G. Di Marco who has a Brian May Tribute channel on YouTube. Armed with a Red Special guitar, he performed his version of Queen’s 1977 classic hit “We Will Rock You” – ripping through May’s face-melting solo.

He wrote, “During this terrible period, each day at 6:00 pm all the Italians play something on their balcony.
In Rome, in my condominium we played We Will Rock You! Big hug all around the world!”

His neighbors seemed to have loved it since they gave him a round of applause.

Meanwhile, Italy’s death toll has overtaken China’s with a total of 3,405 deaths and over 41,000 cases as of this writing. In line with this, Italy has extended their emergency coronavirus measures with a ban on any public gathering and also travel restrictions. Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte ordered the people to stay at home in order to help protect those who are most vulnerable. He called it “our darkest hour, but we will make it.”
