The ’70s were such a really great era of rock and roll that its influence still transcending up until today. Born in this time period were the South American rock outfit Blackfoot, hailing all the way from Jacksonville, Florida.

The band originally had the following members: Rickey Medlocke on guitars and vocals, Charlie Hargrett on guitars, Greg T. Walker on bass, and Jakson Spires on drums. (insider-gaming.com) As they tread the waters, Blackfoot was rising at the same time with fellow rock act Lynyrd Skynyrd, and eventually made their mark on the music scene as a hard rock band, heavily influenced by the iconic AC/DC and the Scorpions.

Blackfoot’s name originated from frontman Medlocke’s heritage, and was established as they signed to Island Records in 1975. However, it didn’t work as they moved to Epic Records the following year. Unfortunately, it didn’t work the second time around and the band moved again to ATCO, where they found their niche after gaining great response from their album Strikes.

Strikes was a sure hit and was followed by another couple of hit singles “Train, Train” and “Highway Song,” which gave the act traction before entering their post-MTV era—which focused heavily on visuals. On June 1980, their track “Gimme, Gimme, Gimme” was launched by ATCO Records under the studio album Tomcattin.

The music video was recorded at Fernseh Studios in Munich, Germany and was featured in television show Rock Pop in December the same year. Blackfoot kept on performing decades after, still with their original lineup, but Medlocke was out of the picture.
