Guns N’ Roses Covers Classic Thin Lizzy Anthem – Watch

Guns N’ Roses surprised fans in Yokohama, Japan, by debuting a live cover of Thin Lizzy’s “Thunder and Lightning” during the second stop of their 2025 world tour. Fan-shot footage captured the moment bassist Duff McKagan took over lead vocals for the high-energy track, originally the title song from Thin Lizzy’s final 1983 album.

A Super-Sized Setlist

The performance was part of a massive 28-song set Monday night at K-Arena—six songs more than their opening night in South Korea. Then again, only in the world of Guns N’ Roses could 22 songs be considered a “short” set. They also brought back fan favorites like “Don’t Cry,” “You Could Be Mine,” “Hard Skool,” “Absurd,” and “Madagascar” to round out the night.

Tour Rolls On

The band’s tour—humorously titled Because What You Want & What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things—continues this Saturday at Taoyuan Sunlight Arena in Taiwan. The final stop is currently set for July 31 at Germany’s Wacken Open Air.
