They all knew each other very well
Las year was certainly a tough one. Back in May 2017, Chris Cornell took his own life, and one of the greatest voices in music was silenced forever. Two months later, Chris’ good friend and fellow rock legend Chester Bennington, frontman of Linkin Park took his own life as well. Both were shocking, and since their passings, the rock world has felt a little more empty.
Godsmack paid tribute to the two late legends during a show in Pennsylvania with haunting acoustic covers of Linkin Park’s “Crawling” and Temple of the Dog’s “Hunger Strike.” Prior to starting the covers, lead singer Sully Erna expressed to the crowd how great of friends they were with both legends, and actually had a great message about how the world needs to explore new ways to help people struggling with mental health issues. The covers of the songs are bound to give you chills, and pay perfect and proper tribute to both legends!
