No, He’s Not Singing For Fleetwood Mac
Don Henley, Tom Petty, the Foo Fighters – after decades of collaborating with artists from every walk of life, it’s pretty safe to say that all roads lead to Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks, but not even we were prepared to find out the surprising connection she shares to Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose.
If, like us, you’ve gotten a kick out of Axl Rose’s onstage dance moves (our personal favorite is the snake dance) over the past 3 decades, you have Stevie Nicks to thank. While there haven’t been private dance lessons or anything of the sort, the 2008 Guns N’ Roses biography Watch You Bleed reveals that Axl used to tape all of Stevie’s MTV music videos back in the mid-eighties and study them for hours so that he could copy her “ballet dance moves.”
Who knew? The jury’s still out as to whether or not Axl had a thing for Stevie back in the day, but something about Stevie Nicks tells us that as a woman known to never suffer fools gladly, even if Axl had carried a torch for her she wouldn’t have been receptive to his shenanigans!
