Fleetwood Mac’s “Little Lies” Featured In New Super Bowl Ad

The new Amazon’s Super Bowl LVI ad features married duo Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost where they hilariously exchange conversations with the imaginative mind-reading Amazon’s Alexa.

The commercial follows a series of awkward situations when Alexa started revealing unfiltered thoughts of the couple to each other. There’s a scene where Alexa orders mouthwash in response to Johansson’s morning breath, followed by Alexa starting a blender when Jost is telling a story and Johansson seemed to not care.

About halfway into the ad, Jost asks his wife of two years, “When you have to do those love scenes with those hot guys, is that fun or is that, like, the worst?” Johansson smiles and says, “It’s the worst!” But then mind-reading Alexa ruined the moment and played Fleetwood Mac classic song “Little Lies.”

“Little Lies” was the third single from 1987’s Tango in the Night. The track reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and got to No.1 on the Adult Contemporary chart. Christine McVie sang lead vocals and co-wrote the song with her then-husband, Eddy Quintela.

The “Avengers” star and “Weekend Update” anchor got married in 2020 after meeting on SNL. Now they are set to appear in their first project together. Claudine Cheever, vice president of global brand and fixed marketing for Amazon said that the couple “were very involved in the joke writing.” She added:

“There’s something nice about the fact that there has never been anything with them together. It’s a mystery element: What are they like together?”

The Amazon Alexa ad is set to premiere during the Super Bowl on February 13 on NBC.
