Live at Philadelphia’s Mann Music Theatre in ’87, Stevie Ray Vaughan plays killer tune “Lookin’ Out The Window” and rocks the house with incredible Philadelphia Blues vocals and guitar work. Written by good friend Doyle Bramhall, the tune talks about looking through a window to see good times and the woman he loves, hoping that it lasts.

Interesting Fact:  Earning six Grammy Awards and ten Austin Music Awards, he was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2000, and the Musicians Hall of Fame in 2014. Rolling Stone ranked Vaughan as the twelfth greatest guitarist of all time.

Besides his untouchable guitar work, stage presence, tricks and treats and incredible southern vocals, Stevie Ray was what most would agree with as a romantic, since he found love so early in his life. After having his heart broken by ex- wife Lenny, SRV struck up a meaningful relationship with model Janna Lapidus just 4 years before his untimely end.

It is hard to say which woman this song was dedicated to, but Stevie found comfort in experiencing, living and writing about love and it showed on stage. Although this is not a live performance with video, Stevie was one of the artists that did not require visuals, his music and talent translated well enough, and still do, through pure sonancy.
