He Called The Committee Members “Elitist”
Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider is never one to mince words especially when it comes to something he’s immensely passionate about. And in a recent Q&A session on Twitter, he heavily criticized the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This was in response to a Twitter user who questioned why Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson said in 2018 that he would refuse to be inducted.
The RnR Hall committee members are arrogant elitist assholes who look down on metal & other bands that sell millions because we’re not their definition of cool. The fan vote is their “throwing a bone” to the peasants. I want to say FU, but I want them to have to deal with us! https://t.co/mUoUbkYx3C

Snider wrote that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame committee members “are arrogant elitist assholes who look down on metal & other bands that sell millions” because apparently, “we’re not their definition of cool.” He didn’t hold back when he declared that “The fan vote is their “throwing a bone” to the peasants.” He then ended his statement with even harsher words: “I want to say FU, but I want them to have to deal with us!”
If they were catering to the masses they would have the biggest selling bands. Corporate rock bands that sell tens of millions are ignored because they aren’t “cool”. The fact is the RnR Hall of Fame is struggling. Was it crowded when you were there? It wasn’t when I went. https://t.co/NuxQ0EdVoh

Someone replied that “They cater to the masses” to which Snider disagreed because if that was the case, “they would have the biggest selling bands.” He revealed that RnR is “struggling” and tweeted that “The people running things are too old”. And when someone brought up Rolling Stone co-founder Jann Wenner, Snider called him “the puppet master since day one” further explaining, “If it ain’t in Rolling Stone it is hard pressed to get into the Hall of Fame!”
AND THERE IS YOUR ANSWER! Jan Werner (founder is Rolling Stone) has been the puppet master since day one. If it ain’t in Rolling Stone it is hard pressed to get into the Hall of Fame! https://t.co/XFbk34ijki
