Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin Perform “I Love L.A.” For Hannukah Sessions | Society Of Rock Videos

The ninth clip from Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin‘s 2022 Hanukkah Sessions concert features an all-star group of friends celebrating Los Angeles.

Grohl led a performance of Randy Newman’s “I Love L.A.” with drums and lead vocals, adding, “We love it!” together with Jack Black, Pink, Karen O, Beck, and Kurstin, among others. On December 5, the Largo club in Los Angeles hosted the performance.

Grohl had worked with producer and multi-instrumentalist Kurstin on a set of songs with a Jewish theme three times, but this was their first time doing it in front of a live audience. Judd Apatow served as the event’s host, and all the proceeds went to the Anti-Defamation League. Grohl said after the first run of Hanukkah Sessions in 2020:

“It showed me that the simple gesture of spreading joy and happiness goes a long way, and as we look forward, we should all make an effort to do so, no matter how many candles are left to light on the menorah.”

Kurstin, who is Jewish, assisted Grohl in his exploration of the holiday. This year’s legendary artists include Blood Sweat & Tears, Rush, 10cc, and Janis Ian. Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, Mountain, the Ramones, Van Halen, the Clash, Billy Joel, and Kiss, all of which have contributed songs to the previous sessions.

Check out their performance below.
