90,000 Sent Fleeing

Scary news out of Germany today as we report that major rock festival Rock am Ring has been shut down after the discovery of what authorities call a ‘concrete’ terror threat, sending 90,000 attendees fleeing into the night with the help of over 1,200 policemen and women.

Slated to feature acts such as Rival Sons, Clutch, Rammstein and many more, Rock am Ring issued an announcement asking fans to evacuate the festival site “in a calm and controlled manner,” immediately cooperating with authorities and taking to social media to address all in attendance:

The exact nature of the threat has not been revealed, but judging by the authorities’ decision to brand it a ‘concrete’ threat – especially in the wake of last month’s tragedy in Manchester – and evacuate 80,000 people as quickly as humanly possible, whatever it was was too terrifying and much too dangerous to risk blowing off as a mere hoax designed to interrupt a fun Friday night of rock and roll music.

No word as to whether Rock am Ring will continue through the weekend as planned; officials are speaking with police forces at the moment and a decision is pending sometime this evening. Our thoughts and prayers are with all who attended Rock am Ring, we hope you all made it home safely tonight – stay safe out there, and take care of yourselves and each other.
