Bob Dylan Announces ‘The Bootleg Series Vol. 16’

Bob Dylan has been far from idle since the start of the pandemic. Aside from releasing new music, he also dug deep into his vault and has just announced a new bootleg series. The “Springtime In New York: The Bootleg Series Vol. 16 (1980-1985)” focuses on the songs he recorded for ‘Shot of Love,’ ‘Infidels’ and ‘Empire Burlesque’. This was after his Christian period in the ’80s.

The collection, slated for release on September 17, includes studio outtakes from 1981’s ‘Shot of Love,’ 1983’s ‘Infidels’, and 1985’s ‘Empire Burlesque’. It also features songs recorded during his rehearsals in 1980, European stadium tour in 1984, and his 1984 guest appearance on Late Night with David Letterman.

The package will be available as a 2-CD set and a 5-CD box set, along with a book containing previously unseen photos and liner notes by Scottish writer Damien Love.
