A case involving Lindsey Buckingham has led to an arrest far from where the reported incident first occurred. Law enforcement officials confirmed that a 55-year-old woman, identified as Michelle Dick, was taken into custody on April 12 in Fort Wayne. Authorities said the arrest happened without resistance, and she is now being held in a local jail while arrangements are made to return her to Santa Monica, where the investigation began.

The situation traces back to March 25, when police say Buckingham encountered the suspect during an incident that quickly escalated. Investigators allege the woman threw an unidentified substance toward the musician and damaged his vehicle before leaving the area. Officials have not released details about what was used, and they noted that no serious injuries were reported at the time.

Legal Case Develops Across State Lines

Prosecutors have filed several charges linked to the alleged encounter. Authorities say the suspect faces six felony counts connected to accusations of stalking, assault, and battery, along with one misdemeanor charge. While investigators have not publicly outlined all evidence gathered, they confirmed that the case progressed enough to support an out-of-state arrest.

Reports from sources cited by ABC News indicate the suspect may have had previous interactions with law enforcement. However, officials have not provided details about those earlier contacts. The focus now remains on preparing extradition proceedings so the case can move forward in California courts.

Spotlight Returns to Buckingham’s Career

The incident has also drawn attention back to Buckingham’s long-standing role in Fleetwood Mac, a group known for global success over several decades. He joined the band in 1975 alongside Stevie Nicks, contributing to a lineup that helped define the group’s most successful period.

During his time with the band, Buckingham played a major part in shaping its sound, especially on releases like Rumours, which remains one of the highest-selling records in music history. His involvement spanned multiple eras, including extended runs from 1975 to 1987 and later from 1996 to 2018.

Investigation Continues as Case Moves Forward

Authorities say the legal process is still in its early stages, with investigators continuing to review evidence tied to the alleged attack. The next step involves transferring the suspect to California, where formal proceedings will take place.

Officials have not indicated whether additional charges could be introduced or if others may be connected to the case. For now, the investigation remains active as prosecutors prepare to bring the matter before the court system.
