Aerosmith – “Jaded” Live
My My Baby Blue!
“Jaded” was written by Steven Tyler and Marti Frederiksen. It was released on December 21, 2000 for the album “Just Push Play.” Aerosmith performed this live during the American Music Awards and for the halftime show for the Super Bowl XXXV. It featured some jangling guitars accompanied by a wonderful drum beat and a bass rhythm people love to dance to.
According to lead singer Steven Tyler, he wrote this song while thinking of his youngest daughter, and how he missed much of her childhood because he was touring. He feels he jaded her and himself by not being available due to band commitments or drug problems.
Actress Mila Kunis was featured in the music video which was shot in the Los Angeles Theater. It debuted on MTV on February 13, 2001 and even received two awards:
- Video Of The Year from the Boston Music Awards
- Best Hard Rock Clip of the Year from the Billboard Music Video Awards
Tyler (from Q magazine): “When I hit on the melody for Jaded, it was so phenomenal that for a while I was scared to do anything more with it. I didn’t even tell the band.”
Aren’t we all glad Steven finally told the band?
