Fleetwood Mac is a band that’s so timeless that you don’t realize how many songs you’ve heard by them until you seek them out. Then you have kind of a “No WONDER I love this song!” moment. ‘Everywhere’ is one of those songs, and it’s one of our absolute favorites!
Much like Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie has a voice that’s so distinctly her, and she uses that to her advantage as seen here in this fantastic live rendition of ‘Everywhere’.
Fun Fact: Christine McVie’s writing style is very straight forward – there’s no guessing what she’s trying to say! Stevie Nicks loves to cloak her lyrics in symbolism, making you have to really pay attention to catch the meaning.
I love this performance of ‘Everywhere’ because while Christine wrote and sings the song, the remaining members of Fleetwood Mac have their roles in making the song as awesome as it is. Stevie keeps time with her tambourine and supports Christine’s vocals with fantastic harmonies, and Lindsey Buckingham’s melodies fit in seamlessly with Christine’s voice.
They’re a team, and at the end of the day they never forget that!
