If you live in Southern California, then you know that it looks something like this outside today:
Well, maybe not exactly, but the weather is still pretty gross.
In any event, the rain has forced Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Aerosmith to cancel their long awaited Walk of Fame Ceremony, much to the disappointment of the band and the fans who planned to turn out for the occasion. Frontman Steven Tyler was the first to break the news, joking that the band tried to get their star but “it’s underwater and we forgot our scuba gear!”
“Folks, we tried to get our star today…but it’s underwater and we forgot our scuba gear!! New date for @hwdwalkoffame coming soon!! Stay tuned and stay dry! We love and thank you all! @Aerosmith”
Not long after, an official announcement was made across Aerosmith’s social media pages. No mention of any scuba gear, but still disappointing nonetheless:
As we reported earlier this month, Aerosmith are slated to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame – no small feat, and one that comes 50 years into the band’s career. When their star is eventually unveiled, it will be the 2,657th to be placed on the Walk of Fame, joining some of the best and brightest in entertainment.
No word on when the ceremony will be rescheduled, but if you’re not in California or just can’t escape from work long enough to make it down to see the ceremony in person, never fear: you can watch it in the video below as it’s livestreamed on YouTube, much like that of parody legend Weird Al Yankovic’s was in 2018.
Disappointing for sure, but don’t worry Aerosmith fans: it’s coming, and it’ll be here soon!
