Rock icon Jon Bon Jovi recently hinted at a colorful past, implying that he had been romantically involved with a hundred women over the years.
The 62-year-old made these remarks during an interview on the ABC special, Michael Strahan x Jon Bon Jovi: Halfway There. Reflecting on his 35-year marriage to high school sweetheart Dorothea Hurley, Bon Jovi admitted to feeling like he “got away with murder” at times. The conversation touched on the challenges of maintaining a relationship amidst his rockstar status and sex symbol image. He declared:
“I’m not a saint. I’m Jon Bon Jovi.
“I’m not saying that there weren’t 100 girls in my life. It was pretty good!”
However, despite his candid revelations, Bon Jovi emphasized his commitment to his marriage. He acknowledged the sacrifices his wife made due to his demanding touring schedule, praising her “tolerance” and crediting their mutual admiration and shared experiences for their enduring bond.
The interview also shed light on Dorothea’s absence from a recent screening of Bon Jovi’s documentary series. Her absence was attributed to her battle with COVID-19, from which she has since recovered.
Throughout his career, Bon Jovi has been vocal about his devotion to his family. Despite the temptations of fame, he has remained steadfast in his commitment to his wife and their four children. Bon Jovi stated:
“We enjoy each other, and we never fell for the trappings of what celebrity can do.
“We’ve witnessed that happen over the years to people that were close to us and people that we knew from afar.”
In addition to discussing his marriage, Bon Jovi expressed his support for his son Jake’s engagement to actress Millie Bobby Brown. While initially unaware of Brown’s work on Stranger Things, he praised her work ethic and expressed happiness for the young couple.
As for performing at their wedding, Bon Jovi teased that he might take the stage, depending on the circumstances. Regardless, he remains supportive of their relationship and hopeful for their future together.
