Tragic news out of the rock world today as we report that rock supergroup Adrenaline Mob were involved in a horrific crash Friday afternoon, leaving 1 dead and 6 injured.
The crash occurred Friday afternoon when a tractor trailer veered off of Florida’s Interstate 75 and struck the RV carrying members of Adrenaline Mob and their road crew as they were stopped by the side of the road to change a flat tire, killing bassist David Zablidowsky when the RV burst into flames shortly after impact and leaving 6 others seriously injured and rushed to a local hospital.
Known for stints in Trans-Siberian Orchestra and ZO2 before being tapped to join Adrenaline Mob, a supergroup that’s featured members of Dream Theater, Twisted Sister, and Symphony X, Zablidowsky’s death was confirmed the following day in a series of heartbroken social media updates from family and friends. Singer Russell Allen, seriously injured in the crash, took to Facebook early Saturday with the following:
Tributes to Zablidowsky and words of comfort for his family and bandmates poured in all weekend long as everyone from former Adrenaline Mob drummer Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, The Winery Dogs) to Sebastian Bach mourned the loss of their friend and colleague, asking fans to remember a man whose gentle soul and kind heart far surpassed his sterling reputation in the music world.
The mind boggles. I just read the horrific news that my friend David Z was killed today. David and his brother… https://t.co/uBlDrQvo9o
