Heart is gearing up for an eagerly anticipated tour this weekend, marking the first time both Ann and Nancy Wilson will take the stage together since 2019.

The band’s reunion not only ignites excitement among fans but also underscores the rekindled bond between the Wilson sisters. Ann shared during a conversation with Billboard:

“We’re talking. We’re fine together. We just felt it, so why not?
“The common ground is that we both want it to be excellent and we both want it to be absolutely Heart. We just basically put it together and said, ‘Let’s go!’”

Various factors contributed to the band’s hiatus. In 2016, Ann’s husband faced legal issues involving one of Nancy’s children, leading to strained relations. Despite a brief reunion in 2019, tensions reportedly persisted. Nancy explained to Billboard:

“There’s so many things, circumstantially, since 2019.
“A lot of it’s just family drama and unavoidable, and just other stuff people wanted to do besides Heart. So we were off doing our own things for a little while, and there was also this little interruption called the pandemic.”

Ann and Nancy Wilson’s Ventures Beyond Heart

Since their last joint tour, Ann and Nancy have pursued solo ventures, with Nancy also embarking on tours as Nancy Wilson’s Heart. However, they both emphasize that the true essence of Heart lies in their collaboration.

Their most recent joint performance in late 2023, the first since 2019, reignited anticipation for a full tour. Nancy highlighted another motivating factor, saying:

“You know, I just turned the big 7-0 (on March 16), so it’s like, ‘Whoa … If I ever want to get a chance to do this amazingly fun thing one more time, now is the time.’”

Is New Music from Heart on the Horizon?

Alongside their expansive tour set to kick off on April 20, the Wilson sisters have their sights set on creating new Heart music. Ann admitted:

“The thing that we really hope to achieve is to maybe write some more stuff together.
“We don’t have plans for that right now. We don’t really plan too far in the future; we’re not calculating like that. We’re just gonna do this tour and see what comes. But I think if a song comes out of a situation, it’ll be a real good one, ’cause it’ll be authentic. It’s just a matter of me and Nancy getting our heads around that.”

Nancy expressed enthusiasm for revisiting old band demos, particularly highlighting a song called “Sweet Deceiver.” Although it was never properly recorded due to incomplete lyrics, she’s eager to finish it and is also keen on writing new material.
