The Queen of modern blues

There’s really no argument against the statement that Jimi Hendrix is the greatest guitar player in the history of rock n’ roll. Throughout his unfortunately brief career, Hendrix put together some pretty mind-blowing rock n’ roll and blues solos, that have become a challenging goal for every guitarist to conquer!

One woman, however, took Hendrix’s solo to the above and beyond, and shredded a jaw-dropping cover of his classic hit “Little Wing” that’s bound to leave you in awe! Joanna Connor is a blues guitarist, and when she took the stage in a small Chicago bar, she stole the show with her insane guitar licks and incredible improv skills! Jimi Hendrix would definitely be proud and approve if he saw this, and it’s awesome to see a woman shred the guitar so perfectly!

Fun Fact: The guitar on the song is played in a very unique style. Jimi frets the roots of chords with his thumb, and then elaborates on them. It often involves shifts of quartile to tertian harmony and vice versa. In theory it is quite similar to the Jazz style of chord melody.
