Willie Nelson Set To Release His Own Cannabis Cook Book

Even in his ninth decade, country star Willie Nelson remains as active as ever. Hot on the heels of his 74th studio album, Bluegrass, Nelson is venturing into the culinary scene with a cannabis-themed cookbook co-authored with his wife, Annie.

Nelson has long been open about his appreciation for marijuana, even claiming that smoking weed “saved [his] life.” Transitioning to marijuana allowed him to quit smoking tobacco and cut back on heavy whiskey drinking. Now, he’s channeling his love for cannabis into a new venture: Willie & Annie Nelson’s Cannabis Cookbook.

This 256-page book is a blend of recipes and Nelson’s musings on life. While Annie Nelson handles most of the cooking content, Willie focuses on storytelling. According to the official description, the book is all about “cooking with good vibes only.” It features recipes drawn from their favorite meals during nationwide tours, at their ranch, and in their favorite cities. Each recipe is paired with a story, offering a unique way to enjoy a good meal alongside a “high-flying tale and a relaxing buzz.”

The cookbook boasts a wide variety of recipes, ranging from buffalo wings to chocolate cake, and includes sections on making cannabis-infused butter, simple syrup, and oil. These cannabis-based recipes are designed to elevate any culinary experience.

This isn’t Nelson’s first foray into publishing. He’s previously released two memoirs: Wille: An Autobiography and The Facts Of Life And Other Dirty Jokes. Fans can expect a similar storytelling style in the new cookbook, enriched with the addition of cannabis recipes.

Willie & Annie Nelson’s Cannabis Cookbook is set to be released on November 12th through Gallery Books. This new project caps off a busy year for Nelson, who recently completed an extensive summer tour with Bob Dylan, John Mellencamp, and Southern Avenue.
