Steven Tyler surprised fans by appearing at the Black Crowes’ May 15 concert in London, marking his first performance since experiencing severe vocal cord damage last year.

The Black Crowes had just finished their 16-song set and returned to the stage for an encore. As they began Aerosmith’s classic song “Mama Kin,” Tyler suddenly walked onstage unannounced. As you would expect, the crowd cheered loudly when they recognized the iconic frontman.

Black Crowes vocalist Chris Robinson started the song, handling the opening lines before Tyler took over the microphone and belted out the next part. The two singers traded verses throughout the rendition, occasionally harmonizing on the chorus. You can watch the footage of this epic performance.

Steven Tyler’s Recovery From Vocal Cord Damage

Tyler’s guest appearance in London is his first performance since Aerosmith postponed their Peace Out farewell tour. The band launched the highly anticipated trek on Sept. 2, 2023. Unfortunately, Tyler suffered vocal cord damage after just doing the three shows. He was later diagnosed with a fractured larynx and was prescribed rest.

With Aerosmith’s recent announcement of their new tour dates for Peace Out and Tyler’s performance with the Black Crowes, it’s a sure sign that he’s now ready to return to the stage. The band is set to resume their farewell tour on Sept. 20 in Pittsburgh. The Black Crowes, who were scheduled to join Aerosmith on the original trek, will again serve as the opening act.

This surprise performance not only thrilled fans but also demonstrated Tyler’s resilience and dedication to his musical craft. His return to the stage after a serious injury proves that nothing can stop this rock legend. As the Peace Out tour approaches, fans eagerly anticipate seeing Tyler and Aerosmith deliver their iconic performances once again.
