If Journey ever needs a replacement drummer, we think we might have someone in mind – Alexey Poblete! At 12 years old, this YouTube sensation has been causing a fuss with her classic rock and metal drum covers, getting the attention of everyone from members of KISS to Journey’s current lead singer, Arnel Pineda. It’s fitting, then, that Alexey should take Arnel’s first major hit with Journey and deliver an absolutely smokin’ cover in the form of ‘Never Walk Away’ – a song that has shades of the Journey we all grew up on, but with a few new twists and turns that hint at a new era for the band.

First, let’s talk the pure joy that Alexey is clearly radiating – sure, she’s a world class musician at 12 years old, but more importantly she’s having a great time as evidenced by the mile wide grin on her face. Secondly, her playing is incredibly precise and quite frankly, belongs on the next great rock album of 2016…maybe even the next Journey album?
