The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson has shared a new trailer and poster for his upcoming documentary, Brian Wilson: Long Promised Road. It arrives on November 19 in theaters and video-on-demand services. It touched on Wilson’s fascinating and colorful life including his musical accomplishments, and his impact and influence on other musicians.
Directed by Brent Wilson (no relation), the film features interviews with Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Linda Perry, the Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins, and Nick Jonas plus appearances from Al Jardine, Don Was, Jakob Dylan, and Gustavo Dudamel. The highlight, however, will be a series of interviews between the Beach Boys co-founder and former Rolling Stone Editor-in-Chief Jason Fine.
“There was no greater world created in rock n’ roll than the Beach Boys,” Springsteen declared. “The level of musicianship, I don’t think anybody’s touched it yet.”
“Brian just threw away the rule book,” John explained. “Just took you out of where you were and took you to another place.”
The premiere date coincides with the release of Wilson’s new solo piano album At My Piano, which includes stripped-back versions of classics from his catalog.
Long Promised Road will also feature a new song, “Right Where I Belong.”
