On Wednesday, Foo Fighters performed their 2003 classic hit “Times Like These” on the primetime “Celebrating America” special which celebrated the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Frontman Dave Grohl dedicated it to teachers including his own mother Virginia who worked as a public school teacher for 35 years and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden.

Before launching into the song, Grohl said: “This year our teachers were faced with unprecedented challenges, but through dedication and creativity they faced those challenges head on. So this next song is for Mackenzie [Adams] and all our unshakable teachers that enlighten our nation’s kids every day.”

Their performance starts out quietly before they completely rocked it out. Watch their stirring live version below.

Other performers include Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, John Legend, and New Radicals to name a few. Jon Bon Jovi covered “Here Comes the Sun” while Katy Perry wrapped up the event with “Firework”.

Foo Fighters are set to release their tenth studio album on February 5. They previewed it with three songs – “Shame Shame”, “No Son of Mine”, and “Waiting on a War”. They previously performed the last two tracks on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
