The tragic news of Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins passing at age 50, is still a shock to everyone who love and admires the late drummer.

The band confirmed on Saturday, March 25 Hawkins’ sudden death, writing on their social media:

“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”

Foo Fighters’ last live show with Hawkins was at the Lollapalooza Argentina on March 20. The concert ended with the performance of their hit song “Everlong.” The band rocked out once more on the stage in front of a thousand crowd. Sadly, as they took their bow, everyone present at the show were unknowingly witnessing Hawkins’ final act.

Following Hawkins’ death, a lot of fans and artists who worked closely with the iconic drummer have expressed their reaction and paid tribute on social media, including Queen’s remaining members Brian May and Roger Taylor who are devastated by the sad news.

Oliver Taylor Hawkins was born in Fort Worth, Texas on February 17 1972 and grew up in Laguna Beach, California. He officially joined Foo Fighters in 1997. He also had a side project, Taylor Hawkins And The Coattail Riders. Hawkins is survived by his wife Alison and their three children, Oliver, Annabelle and Everleigh.
