David Lee Roth made a surprise appearance in Las Vegas on March 23 for a performance of Van Halen’s classic “Panama” with the all-star cover band Royal Machines.

Roth was seen wearing sunglasses, a white polo, a black vest and bright yellow slacks, as he took the stage alongside the all-star band, which famously include musicians like Billy Morrison, Mark McGrath, Donovan Leitch Jr., Chris Chaney, and Josh Freese among its performers. Additionally, Billy Idol’s guitarist Steve Stevens took part in the performance and handled Eddie Van Halen’s famous solo.

The show took place at the Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay as part of a corporate event for Home Depot sales managers. Roth surprised the audience when he stepped onto the stage and guided the group through a rendition of “Panama.” The singer hyped the crowd of Home Depot employees, asking:

“Are we having a good time so far?!”

In addition to Roth, other notable guests during Royal Machines’ set included Billy Idol, Run DMC’s Darryl McDaniels, and Linda Perry.

In the previous months, Roth talked about retiring from performing and canceled his Las Vegas residency that was supposed to be his final show. But then later on, made a cryptic statement implying he’s possibly not retiring. He also teased about the possible Van Halen tribute tour that sparked speculations and even released studio re-recordings of Van Halen songs in recent months.
