R.I.P. Pete’s Equipment!

Many accomplished/legendary punk musicians often attribute The Who as the founding fathers of punk rock. Though The Who are deemed responsible for the creation of many other styles of music, the chaotic, rebellious, and angsty is what The Who are primarily known for. This argument could also be made even more so for lead guitarist Pete Townshend. Mr. Pete Townshend is often deemed responsible for the destructive personas that many guitarist have made their iconic image, and even several years after his illustrious debut, Pete Townshend still practices this exact persona. Case in point, this video!

What you’re about to watch is a video from the David Letterman Show where Pete Townshend takes to the stage to perform the hit song Pinball Wizard. All seems normal at first, but things take a destructive turn as soon as Pete Townshend finishes playing the song. Needless to say, this is what Pete is good at! See for yourself!
