Tearing It Up
Covering Santana’s “Black Magic Woman” on the street, these two young men wow the passerby crowd with this sexy clarinet skills and beautiful, soft vocals that politely demand your attention. Due to our excellent detective skills, we can see “ngmarketsquare” on the sign behind the young men- this stands for Long Market Square located in Longmarket, Canterbury, so if you’re going that way keep an eye out for these guys!
“Stop messin’ around with your tricks, don’t turn your back on me baby. You just might pick up my magic sticks…”
If you listen closely (as the cameraman spins in a circle, sorry about that) the clarinet player sneaks in a little “Sweet Child O’ Mine” Guns N’ Roses dip in one of his solos so effortlessly you almost might miss it. Acquiring the attention of most around them, these boys are beyond a professional level with class, talent and humility- it really is a sight to see.
Interesting Fact: The original version is based on a blues song Peter Green wrote for Fleetwood Mac’s first UK album called “I Loved Another Woman.”
We have always appreciated the beautiful music the clarinet makes, so hearing it so perfectly against the genius of “Black Magic Woman” pretty much just made our lives, hope it makes yours too! Enjoy!
-P.S. the video says “saxophone” but we both know that this is nothing near a saxophone, right?!-

Got a black magic woman
Got a black magic woman
I got a black magic woman
Got me so blind I can’t see
That she’s a black magic woman
She’s tryin’ to make a devil out of me
Don’t turn your back on me baby
Don’t turn your back on me baby
Yes, don’t turn your back on me baby
Stop messin’ around with your tricks
Don’t turn your back on me baby
You just might pick up my magic sticks
Got your spell on me baby
Got your spell on me baby
Yes you got your spell on me baby
Turning my heart into stone
I need you so bad magic woman
I can’t leave you alone
