Dave Grohl Is One Of The Youngest Two-Time Inductees
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame have announced this year’s inductees – Foo Fighters, The Go-Go’s, Carole King, Todd Rundgren, Jay-Z, and Tina Turner. Three of them are two-time inductees – King who was inducted in 1990 with Gerry Goffin; Tina Turner who was previously inducted with Ike Turner in 1991; and Dave Grohl who was inducted in 2014 as a member of grunge rock act Nirvana.
Chairman of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation John Sykes said, “This diverse class of talented inductees reflects the Hall’s ongoing commitment to honor artists whose music created the sound of youth culture.”
The induction ceremony will take place at 8 p.m. ET Oct. 30 at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland.
In reaction to the news, Grohl told Rolling SStone, “We’re blissfully unaware of a lot of what’s going on in the industry and popular music because we built this little fortress around us where we have our own studio and our friends produce our records.”
He added, “I predict that my speech will be the shortest since I have such a big mouth. It’s time for those guys to speak.”
We’re looking forward to their performance too! It’s gonna be an awesome night for sure.
