Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Tribute

25 years after his untimely death, the family and fans of Stevie Ray Vaughan got their wish when he received the highest honor in music: a spot in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame! Stevie is widely regarded as one of the greatest musicians on earth, whose passion went far beyond just a casual understanding of the guitar; he mastered it, and set the bar impossibly high yet consistently found ways to outdo himself.
On April 18, 2015, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, an honor bestowed upon Stevie and his surviving bandmates by none other than Stevie’s personal hero and best friend, big brother Jimmie Vaughan.
Of Stevie’s death, his brother Jimmie had this to say at the induction ceremony:
“It seems like to me that he’s just out on tour and he’s going to come back soon, but then I remember. I’m not going to ever get over losing him, I’m not going to get over this crazy thing.”
An already emotional evening, the night took a sentimental turn when Jimmie, joined by Double Trouble and friends Doyle Bramhall II, Gary Clark Jr, and John Mayer took the stage for a star-studded tribute to the late guitarist with ‘Pride And Joy’ and ‘Texas Flood’ that Stevie would have been absolutely overjoyed to see. We know Stevie was there in spirit, rocking right along with them!
