She Has Been Replaced As A Festival Headliner

With the alarming rise in Covid-19 cases, more and more musicians are pulling out of their booked gigs. The latest artist to cancel tour dates is Stevie Nicks. She was supposed to perform at a couple of festivals and concerts this year, but she has cancelled them because of the ongoing global health crisis.

She took to Twitter to share her statement.

“These are challenging times with challenging decisions that have to be made,” she wrote. “I want everyone to be safe and healthy and the rising Covid cases [in the US] should be of concern to all of us. While I’m vaccinated, at my age, I am still being extremely cautious and for that reason have decided to skip the 5 performances I had planned for 2021.”

“Because singing and performing have been my whole life, my primary goal is to keep healthy so I can continue singing for the next decade or longer,” she continued. “I’m devastated and know the fans are disappointed, but we will look towards a brighter 2022.”

Nicks has been replaced by country singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton at BottleRock Napa Valley. Meanwhile, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival was also recently canceled.
