Scorpions Call Off Tour Due to Health Concerns
Fans across India were preparing for a long-awaited return, but plans changed suddenly when Scorpions called off their scheduled tour dates with very little notice. The decision came shortly before the first concert was set to begin, leaving organizers and ticket holders facing an unexpected situation.
The band had been set to perform a run of shows across several major cities. Their appearance in the country would have marked their first visit in nearly two decades, making the announcement especially disappointing for longtime followers.
Promoters Confirm Sudden Cancellation
Event organizer BookMyShow released a statement confirming that the tour would not go ahead as planned. According to the notice, the cancellation was due to “unforeseen medical circumstances” involving members of the group.
The message also acknowledged the impact on fans, noting the inconvenience caused by the late decision. It added that the band hopes to return in the future when schedules allow and health conditions improve.
Planned Cities Left Without Performances
The tour had been set to begin in Shillong on April 21 before moving through other major locations. Stops included Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, with shows spaced out over a period of about ten days.
Each date had drawn attention due to the rarity of the band’s visits to India. With tickets already sold and preparations in place, the sudden cancellation disrupted plans for both attendees and event staff across multiple cities.

A Lineup Fans Were Ready to See
The group’s current lineup includes Rudolf Schenker, Klaus Meine, Matthias Jabs, Paweł Mąciwoda, and Mikkey Dee. All five were expected to take part in the performances before the decision was made.
While specific details about the medical issue were not shared, the wording of the statement suggested that health concerns within the band made it impossible to proceed with the shows.
Previous Health Issues Affected Scheduling
This is not the first time health concerns have disrupted the band’s touring plans. In late 2024, drummer Mikkey Dee faced a serious medical situation after developing sepsis during the holiday period.
That condition required recovery time and led to the postponement of a separate set of performances. The band delayed its Las Vegas residency by six months while he focused on regaining strength.
European Dates Still on the Calendar
Despite the canceled India shows, upcoming performances in Europe remain scheduled. The next run is expected to begin in Malta on June 16, followed by a mix of festival appearances and arena concerts.
Those dates suggest that the group still intends to continue performing once current health concerns are addressed.
