Santana and Rod Stewart – “I’d Rather Go Blind” Live | Society Of Rock Videos

You Can’t Stop These Rock and Roll Hall of Famers From Taking Over The Stage!

Last year, Rod Stewart and Carlos Santana toured 18 cities together. They played blues, rock, soul and jazz. That must have been such a treat to their fans! Just think of these two legends performing timeless songs. One thing they both share? A love for blues.

“I think we were authentic and stuck to what we though Chicago blues was,” Stewart said.

Though they brought a wide variety of music to their audience, this one was especially memorable since “I’d Rather Go Blind” was their first collaboration. Would you believe they haven’t played together that much before? It’s true! But you can just see their chemistry. Every city they toured in experienced a lively night filled with beautiful classic rock and the incredible talent of two music icons.

“The main essence of any music that’s worth anything, it must have some blues,” Santana said. “Blues has six things; genuine, honest, sincere, truth, real and authentic. Ain’t (sic) nothing fake about the blues.”

People may have initially thought that they were an unlikely duo but the moment you see (and hear!) them playing, man, they’re perfect!
