B.B. King and John Mayer Live At The Grammy Nominations
Yep, These Are Really GOOD TIMES…
B.B. King performed alongside John Mayer during the The Grammy Nominations Concert.
Together they played The King’s cover version of the classic “Let the Good Times Roll.” This jump blues standard was originally recorded by Louis Jordan and his Tympany Five.
In 1947, the song peaked at number two on the Billboard R&B chart. It also received several other praises and recognition.
John Mayer and B.B. King have dominated the stage for quite a number of times. (Diazepam) Though they’re from different generations, they have amazing chemistry and it’s amazing how they play off each other.
In 2009, the song was acknowledged with a Grammy Hall of Fame Award and was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame in 2013 in the “Classic of Blues Recording — Singles or Album Tracks” category.
I hope they collaborate more. These two are truly magic when they hit the stage!
+Let The Good Times Roll lyrics below+
Hey, everybody, let’s have some fun
You only live but once
And when you’re dead you’re done
So let the good times roll
Let the good times roll
I don’t care if you’re young or old
Get together, let the good times roll
Don’t sit there mumblin’, talkin’ trash
If you wanna have a ball
You gotta spend some cash
So let the good times roll
Let the good times roll
I don’t care if you’re young or old
Go out and get together, let the good times roll
Hey Mr. Landlord, lock up all the doors
When the police comes around
Just tell them that the joint is closed
And let the good times roll
Let the good times roll
I don’t care if you’re young or old
Get up and get together and let the good times roll
Hey everybody, tell everybody
That B.B. King’s in town
I got a dollar and a quarter
Just rarin’ to clown
But don’t let nobody play me cheap
I got fifty cents more that I’m gonna keep
So let the good times roll
Let the good times roll
I don’t care if you’re young or old
Get together and let the good times roll
Let the good times roll, let the good times roll
Let the good times roll, let the good times roll
I don’t care if you’re young or old
Get together, let the good times roll
Let the good times roll, let the good times roll
Let the good times roll, let the good times roll
I don’t care if you’re young or old
Go on and get together and let the good times roll
Let the good times roll, let the good times roll
Let the good times roll, let the good times roll
I don’t care if you’re young or old
Get together, let the good times roll
