Roger Waters And David Gilmour Set For New Syd Barrett Documentary

Have You Got It Yet? is a brand-new Syd Barrett documentary. David Gilmour and Roger Waters both make cameos in The Story of Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd.

The one-and-a-half-hour movie, which was co-directed by Storm Thorgerson and Roddy Bogawa, provides insight into the musician’s ascent in the music industry, his battle with the side effects of psychedelic drugs, and his ultimate split from Pink Floyd.

The documentary is anticipated to arrive in theaters later this month after having its debut on April 27 at Everyman King’s Cross in London. The movie, titled after an unreleased song Barrett sang at his final Pink Floyd practice, includes interviews with the late singer’s family, friends, lovers, bandmate Nick Mason, as well as Gilmour and Waters.

In addition to them, the movie features appearances by Pete Townshend of the Who, Graham Coxon of Blur, Andrew VanWyngarden of MGMT, Peter Jenner and Andrew King, former managers of Pink Floyd, and writer Tom Stoppard.

The music for the documentary features around 50 tracks from Barrett’s solo album and the discographies of Pink Floyd. Since last year, work has been ongoing on this project, which features Jason Isaacs as the narrator.

The documentary has been praised by critics and fans alike since its debut. In a review for Rolling Stone, Rob Sheffield wrote that the film is “a fascinating and essential portrait of one of rock’s most enigmatic figures.” He also praised the interviews with Barrett’s friends and family, which “shed new light on his life and music.”
