That’s How You Do It
At the Rock Legends Cruise VIII last Sunday, The Who frontman Roger Daltrey celebrated his 76th birthday. The lineup also included Roger Hogson, Don Fender, Robby Krieger, UFO, Heart’s Nancy Wilson, Uriah Heep and former Skid Row vocalist Sebastian Bach.
During Daltrey’s set, Bach was tasked to carry a chocolate and cream birthday cake on stage and he also urged the crowd to sing “Happy Birthday”. Daltrey jokingly said, “I’ve gotta tell you, cakes and The Who are very dangerous.” He then proceeded to pelt the sweet treat onto Bach’s face who probably saw it coming but couldn’t do much about it.
Bach said, “I’m so glad I took a shower!” He added, “If you weren’t Roger Daltrey, this would be a different situation. Do we love this man or what? Oh my god, what a disaster!”
Daltrey further explained, “I did try to warn him. Yes, The Who and cakes – or anything to do with The Who and cakes – do not mix. It’s a good job Keith [Moon] isn’t here as well, because we’d all be covered in cake. Thank you, Sebastian. That was so kind of you, man. Thank you for being such a good sport.”
