A recent incident involving renowned singer Rod Stewart and comedian Russell Brand at the 2006 GQ Men of the Year Awards has recently resurfaced, drawing attention amid the ongoing allegations of misconduct against Brand.

Brand has been accused by multiple women of engaging in sexual assault, harassment, and emotional abuse. The incident in question occurred during the awards ceremony when Brand, in his acceptance speech, made a rather provocative statement claiming to have been involved with Kimberly Stewart, the daughter of Rod:

“Here’s to Rod Stewart, who had a go at me earlier this year for too much womanizing. But then again, I did have a go on his daughter.”

Stewart’s Defiant Response to Brand’s Claim

Brand’s assertion provoked a swift response from Sir Rod, who used his own acceptance speech as an opportunity to directly confront the comedian. Stewart publicly challenged Brand by asking him to stand up and account for his claim regarding Kimberly Stewart. In response, Brand appeared somewhat uncomfortable and eventually backtracked on his statement, retracting his assertion that he had been romantically involved with the younger Stewart.

Lingering Discontent of Rod Stewart

Following the awards ceremony, it seemed that the tension between the two celebrities had eased as they were seen posing for photographs together. Nevertheless, Stewart still harbored some apparent resentment over Brand’s initial comments, expressing his views to the Evening Standard by advising Brand to exercise caution and refrain from boasting about such matters. He emphasized that he had never engaged in such behavior himself.

It’s worth noting that Stewart wasn’t the only musician who took issue with Brand’s controversial remarks. Offspring guitarist Noodles also voiced his concerns about Brand’s actions, describing them as “disturbing” and alleging that Brand had made unsettling attempts to establish a cult-like group.

In response to the allegations of misconduct made against him, Brand has vehemently denied them. He recently uploaded a video to his YouTube Channel on September 16, asserting that all his past relationships were consensual and refuting the allegations made against him.
