Illness Forces Show Cancellations

Rod Stewart has postponed six upcoming concerts in the United States as he continues to recover from the flu. The 80-year-old singer made the announcement through a post on his social media.

“I have to cancel and reschedule my next six concerts in June as I continue to recover from the flu,” Stewart wrote. “So sorry my friends. I’m devastated and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to my fans. I’ll be back on stage and will see you soon.

Rescheduled and Pending Dates

The post listed which shows were affected. Two concerts in California—Rancho Mirage and Paso Robles—have already been rescheduled for September 20 and 21. The other four dates, which include three shows in Las Vegas and one in Stateline, Nevada, have not yet been given new dates.

Although these U.S. shows are postponed, Stewart is still expected to appear at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK. He’s scheduled to perform on the Pyramid Stage on June 29. His last appearance at Glastonbury was back in 2002.

Glastonbury Plans with Ronnie Wood

This time, Stewart plans to share the stage with Ronnie Wood, his former bandmate from the Faces. Wood last played Glastonbury with the Rolling Stones in 2013. The reunion has created excitement for longtime fans of both musicians.

“Woody, I do [speak to] a lot,” Stewart said during a recent episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast. “Just recently, ’cause we’re gonna do Glastonbury together.”

Hopes for a Longer Set

Stewart also talked about how long he’ll be on stage during the festival. “But I’ve asked them: ‘Please, another 15 minutes,'” he explained. “Because I play for over two hours every night and it’s nothing.” He’s currently scheduled for an hour and 15 minutes, but he hopes to extend the performance.

Despite his recent illness, Stewart remains eager to return to performing soon, both in the U.S. and at Glastonbury.
