Ringo Starr Jams With Joe Walsh In His New Masterclass

There Will Be 10 Video Lessons

Ringo Starr is the latest rockstar to join MasterClass. The drumming legend will teach a course on “Drumming and Creative Collaboration” and share stories from his six-decade career. He will have a total of 10 video lessons spanning around two hours, talking about everything important such as playing tips and techniques, selecting drum kits essentials, connecting with the audience, and even conveying emotions and feelings through drum playing.

Starr will also discuss some “personal stories of his life” including his time with The Beatles, his very own All-Starr Band, and his musical collaborations.

“Fans will get unprecedented insight and access into his life and career, from his early influences to his creative pursuits outside of drumming, including his charitable work,” a statement from MasterClass reads. “Members will leave this class inspired to explore creative collaboration and equipped to start their drumming journey and forge a personal relationship with music.”

His final class will feature an all-star jam session with the Eagles’ Joe Walsh on guitars, keyboardist Jim Cox, bassist Nathan East, Toto’s Steve Lukather, and Gregg Bissonette and Jim Keltner joining Starr on drums.

“If I can give any piece of advice, it’s to love what you’re doing,” Starr said. “In my class, I will not only teach members how to get started with drums but share how to bring creativity into anything they are passionate about and inspire them to work at something they love.”
