Rick Allen Assaulted Outside Hotel

According to reports, Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen was beaten on the night of March 13, in front of his hotel in Fort Lauderdale.

As part of the ongoing tour with Motley Crue, Def Leppard did a live performance at Hard Rock Live in neighboring Hollywood, Florida. The incident of Allen’s assault occurred in the driveway in front of the Four Seasons hotel.

Allen went outside to have a cigarette when he was attacked by a 19-year-old from Ohio who ran full speed toward him and struck him. As per reports, the boy was “knocking him backwards” which caused the drummer an injury.

Fortunately, a female guest emerged immediately to help the drummer. But Hartley apparently hit her as well, sending her to the ground. When the woman attempted to enter the hotel again, she was forced back by Hartley by pulling her hair.

Hartley was apprehended later while damaging automobiles in a neighboring parking garage. After being caught, he has been charged with two counts of battery, four counts of criminal mischief and abusing an elderly or disabled adult.

In other news, Def Leppard and Motley Crue will go overseas to continue their ongoing tour which is scheduled for May 22.
