Ric Ocasek’s Wife Not Included In Will

He Cut Her Out
Late Cars frontman Ric Ocasek left his estranged supermodel wife Paulina Porizkova out of his will. According to the documents, Ocasek wrote: “I have made no provision for my wife Paulina Porizkova (“Paulina”) as we are in the process of divorcing. Even if I should die before our divorce is final… Paulina is not entitled to any elective share… because she has abandoned me.”
Although his assets include $5 million in copyrights, Ocasek only has $100,000 in “tangible personal property” and $15,000 in cash.
However, Porizkova revealed that she has known about the will even before Ocasek’s death in September due to hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. She posted on Instagram: “I’ve known about the will since the day after Ric passed. All you have heard from me since – is in spite of that.”
The couple split in 2018 but were not legally divorced. During the last few weeks of his life, Porizkova tended to Ocasek as he recuperated from surgery. She was also the one who found him dead as she was bringing him coffee in his townhouse on East 19th Street. She described his death as “unexpected and untimely” since he was expected to make a full recovery.
