How much is the net worth of the country musician who has sold over 40 million albums during his career, Willie Nelson?
Nelson, despite the fact the he became a legend in the music industry, stated that not all of the years of his career was profitable. Just like everyone, he also struggled and experienced being low in financial position.
In 1990, the IRS, seized his assets and asked him to pay a whopping 32 million dollars for his “unpaid” taxes. In order to pay his debt, he released a double album in 1992 which he named “The IRS Tapes: Who’ll Buy My Memories.” The sales he earned out of this album was able to save him together with the money collected from auctioning his properties.
The following years, Nelson was able to sustain himself in terms of finances. He ventured in different businesses, he became a co-author of numerous books, and appeared in almost 30 movies. One of the ventures made was putting his money in a company that sells the product he truly believes in, cannabis.
His devotion to cannabis ignited the fire inside him to create his own brand of recreational weeds. He said:
“I think people need to be educated to the fact that marijuana is not a drug.”
Today, his net worth is approximately $25 million.
