A Rare Treat For Fans

This might as well have been a concert instead of a rehearsal for Bon Jovi’s Saturday Night Live appearance on January 9, 1993. In this 30-minute video, you can see them performing the two songs on their setlist – “Bed of Roses” and “Wanted Dead or Alive.” With two takes for each track and of course, Richie Sambora jamming on his guitar – it’s quite a treat for everyone. The harmonizing and Jon Bon Jovi’s vocal performance are spot on.

Check out the clip below.

Bed of Roses was initially featured on the 1992 album Keep the Faith before it was released as a single in 1993. One of their most popular songs, Jon Bon Jovi wrote it while nursing a hangover. It peaked at #10 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and also charted in several countries.

Wanted Dead or Alive is from their 1986 LP Slippery When Wet. It’s their signature song and Jon Bon Jovi shared at a 2008 concert in Detroit, Michigan that he drew inspiration from Bob Seger’s Turn the Page. He apparently told Richie Sambora while on a tour bus, “We got to write a song like this.” It was a worldwide hit and also certified 4x Platinum by the RIAA.
