They Re-enacted The Epic 20-Minute Performance
Queen + Adam Lambert replicated the legendary 1985 Live Set during the Australia Fire Fight Benefit concert on Sunday. For the first time since 1985, Queen performed the six-song set in its entirety with Adam Lambert taking over the lead vocal duties.
Playing in front of 75,000 people at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney, they kicked it off with the iconic Bohemian Rhapsody. They then powered through the rest of the tracks – Radio Gaga, Hammer To Fall, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions.
Queen included a footage of Freddie Mercury doing his famous ‘Ay-Oh’ at the original Live Aid show. The band later uploaded their performance of “We Are The Champions” and “We Will Rock You” which you can watch below.
The event also featured performances from Alice Cooper, 5 Seconds of Summer, Olivia Newton-John, and John Farnham, among others. But even with such a stellar lineup, Queen + Adam Lambert were clearly the highlight of the concert. The 10-hour gig managed to raise $9.5 million for the national bushfire relief efforts.
