The Biopic Trend Is On
For the past few months, we’ve been hearing more and more news on autobiographical films about famous rockstars. We owe all this to the massive success of Bohemian Rhapsody which didn’t just break records but managed to go beyond our expectations as well.

A few years ago, there were already rumors that a Phil Lynott biopic is in the works but it all just went poof! But recently, there’s news about an upcoming documentary film which will feature the life, career, and music of this Thin Lizzy frontman. It will be shown in Irish cinemas and will be directed by Irish filmmaker Emer Reynolds.
“Having been a huge Thin Lizzy fan throughout my life, it’s an incredible honour to be bringing this celebratory and intimate portrait of lead singer and songwriter Philip Lynott to the big screen.” – Emer Reynolds
Phil Lynott: Songs For While I’m Away will follow the story of Lynott’s rise to fame, his time with iconic group Thin Lizzy until his death at only 36 years old. It will feature interviews with Thin Lizzy members and other musicians like Huey Lewis, Suzi Quatro and James Hetfield.
