Rock icons Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC, Iron Maiden and Metallica have each posted a teaser video for the Power Trip festival, making fans conclude of a powerful lineup of performers.
All the teaser video includes images of the words “power” and “trip,” along with graphics of various musical gear and cacti, that are being cut out of the pages of a magazine and assembled into a collage. The final poster then was placed on a photocopier and printed out as flyers.
To see the Prince of Darkness’ involvement in the upcoming event is notable as the rocker recently announced his retirement from touring, but clarified his openness to perform occasionally. Most recently his wife, Sharon, confirmed that Ozzy indeed has plans to return to the stage. During an interview with Talk TV, she said:
“If there’s a festival here and there that he wants to do, then he will do that.
“But it’s just long tours he won’t do anymore.”
On the other hand, AC/DC’s performance would be their first live show since 2016. It would also mark the band’s first concert since Malcolm Young’s passing in 2017.
The official lineup of Power Trip will be revealed on March 30. According to reports, the festival will take place on Oct. 6 to 8 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif., most popularly known as the home of Coachella.
Power Trip is the evolution of the music festival Desert Trip which took place in 2016 and featured performances by the legends such as the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Roger Waters and the Who.
