A Lovely Rendition
Norah Jones recently posted her own version of Guns N’ Roses “Patience” on social media and also urged her fans to donate to non-profit organizations who are currently helping people in need during the coronavirus pandemic. She filmed the video below at her home while self-quarantining. She’s set to release her new studio album titled “Pick Me Up Off the Floor” on May 8 via Blue Note Records.
She wrote, “Hey everyone. I hope you’re ok in these strange times. If you’re in a position to make a donation, there are many organizations who are getting food or supplies to people in need. @Feeding America, @MusiCaresFoundation are a couple. And please stay home as a pledge of social responsibility to our medical professionals.”
She then added, “I heard a song yesterday that made me feel good and I’ve always wanted to cover it. So I gave it a try.”
Norah Jones is one among many musicians who have found a way to continue performing while staying at home and therefore doing their part in flattening the curve. Several music festivals and concerts have been canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak but through live streaming or recorded performances, they can reach out to fans and also practice self-isolation and social distancing.
