Who doesn’t love Steven Tyler? He’s been a rockstar for more than 40 years now, and the band Aerosmith has reached millions of people around the world. Big hits like “Cryin'” and “Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” and even “Dude Looks Like A Lady” come to mind whenever you think of the band. But where did it all start? What was the first song that began the legendary success and journey of one of the greatest rock bands of all time?

Steven has just posted a clip of him and Joe singing the very first song they wrote together, “Movin’ Out”. Here you can see him on stage at the Park Theatre in Las Vegas in a really touching performance at a show.

The song “Movin’ Out” was actually the first in the actual partnership between Tyler and Perry back in 1972. One fun fact that you might have known is that it was recorded on the waterbed at the band’s apartment! How about that?

Another fun fact is they like to throw it out there at least once every tour and before the song starts, Tyler likes to mention that it is the very first song he and Perry wrote.

“I remember it all really well. Our first roadie and truck driver, he lived with us and he had a day job building waterbeds. That’s what we had in the apartment, a waterbed. And uncomfortable as it was, I can remember sitting on that waterbed, you know like on the edge making sure not to slide back on the squishy part of the bed but balancing myself and the guitar on that wooden frame. And I would just sit there on the edge of that bed and Steven would be right next to me and that’s really when we started to seriously sit down and write songs. And the first one that came out of that apartment was ‘Movin Out.’ That was the first real song we wrote together.” -Joe Perry
