Another Album On The Way???
Following the success of his 17th solo studio album Egypt Station which debuted on the top spot of the US Billboard 200, Paul McCartney said that “hopefully” he’ll have new material soon. He also told Mirror, “Writing music is still a thrill – out of nowhere you produce a rabbit. If you get one you like it’s a great feeling.”
He definitely knows how to keep himself busy because his children’s book Hey Grandude! will come out this September which will follow the story of a grandfather taking his four grandkids to different incredible adventures from riding flying fishes or escaping avalanche.
At 77 years old, Macca still performs and tours like it’s no big deal but interestingly, he admitted in a recent interview that he has to be reminded how to play some of The Beatles classics that he wrote. He said:
“I have to re-learn everything. I’ve written an awful lot, you can’t retain them all. We go in rehearsal and I’m, ‘Oh yeah, that’s how it goes’.”
That makes a lot of sense since he has written hundreds of songs over the years and The Fab Four’s hits were released over fifty years ago. When asked if he thinks his works were “pretty good”, he answered, “I do, I really do. … Some of the old songs you say, ‘Oh, that’s clever, I wouldn’t have done that.’”
